About Feng Shui Colours

Every color affects ch'i energy differently, and because of this colors are believed to be related to yin/yang and the five elements. Color can be used to maintain, calm and enhance a specific ch'i energy. Red, for example, is the most yang color and is linked with fire energy and the ch'i energy of the west.

Colors also have symbolic meanings. Red is associated with romance, wealth, and happiness. Three good reasons why the Chinese choose red for doors and entrance arches.
In essence, feng shui uses colors in two ways that are not totally dissimilar to our current use of color in the home. Large areas, or backgrounds, tend to be pale. Accent colors, which are more vivid, are used more sparingly on only small surfaces, such as a piece of furniture. The principle is: the stronger the color, the less is needed for it to be effective.

One of Feng Shui strategies to change the chi in your life is with color. Color is an important element and causes different reactions.

Feng Shui Colours in our Apartments

When we started to paint our apartments we have tried to make it following some colour rules well known from ancient China and integrated in Feng Shui tradition also.Even position of some furnitures and seats has been made taking care about these rules.

Outside of the house we have made small garden with fish pond and in apartment Prestige there is also big aquarium with tropical fishes, following the important role element of water.

Some of our guessts has found that all this affected on theirs behaviour very positive and that was our satisfaction for the work we did.

Here are some meanings of these colours that you will find in Villa Sunrise:

Yellow: Yellow rooms inspire intellectual clarity, organization, clear headed articulate thinking, and happy energy. Yellow is considered a color for the logical left side of the brain. Yellow is also very bright and somewhat energizing, so one needs to choose its placement with care. A yellow office might be intellectually beneficial, but not allow restful downtime, for example, so one might want to choose to include yellow accents instead of painting each wall yellow.
Orange: Orange rooms encourage happy, joyful, social gatherings. While an orange dining room or family room can stimulate the appetite, it is a great choice for such gathering places. Orange enhances parties, communication, positive feelings, and general good cheer.
It helps to choose the colors you plan to live with in your home with awareness of how different colors affect your emotional and physical states. Every color has a unique vibration all of its own, and this can significantly affect how you feel in a room.

Red: A room that is painted red will energize, inspire activity and movement, help passion, be powerful and stimulating. Choosing a red bedroom would not be restful, although some red can be used to enhance sensuality. A red exercise room would be energizing! In Feng Shui red means luck.

:Violet:

Violet is a combination of blue and red. Red is a focusing, dynamic and active energy while blue is cooling, calming and expansive. Violet brings a new dynamic to the expansion of blue and the activity of red. Red brings practicality to the undirected expansiveness of the blue, and allows more creative energy to emerge. For this reason, violet is associated with imagination and inspiration.

Feng shui, which translates to "the wind and the water," is the Chinese art of correct placement. Practitioners believe that by arranging our furnishings and decor in a way that aligns with nature, we draw harmony and good health into our lives. According to this ancient philosophy, the placement of everything from the front door to the toilet plays in our overall well being. The Chinese actually employ a Feng shui master before building or buying a home. Most Feng shui experts stress the use of aesthetics and common sense in acheiving the desired results.

All of us respond to colors subjectively, yet the use of some colors seem to work with more success than others. As an example, the Chinese believe that red brings luck, probably the reason that Chinese brides wear scarlett. They paint their front doors red as an invitation to happiness. Pinks, plums and purples would have the same effect.
