Dubrovnik 240 km

Dubrovnik - the medieval town-pearl of South Dalmatia, listed as such in the UNESCO registry of world monumental heritage. This is a town of a long-standing tourist tradition, ready to meet the most sophisticated requests of its visitors. The town of museums and festivals, the town of taverns and restaurants, the place of a mild Mediterranean climate and wonderful landscapes confirms the famous saying of the Irish writer Bernard Shaw: "Those who look for a paradise on earth should come to Dubrovnik." Isn't it a sufficient reason for you to set out for Dubrovnik and verify this statement?

N.P. KRKA 60 km

The Krka National Park is located entirely within the territory of Šibnik-
Knin County and encompasses an area of 109 square kilometers along
the Krka River: two kilometers downriver from Knin to Skradin and the lower part of the Čikola River.
From the flooded part of the mouth, it is 72.5 kilometers in length,
making the Krka the 22nd longest river in Croatia.

The source of the Krka River is at the base of the Dinaric Mountains, 3.5 kilometers northeast of the base of Knin and 22 meters below Topoljski Slap, Veliki Buk and Krčić Slap, which are noisy cascades in the winter but run dry during the summer.More info here

SKRADIN 55 km

You can visit this beatifull town during your visit of National park Krka as it is only a few km from it.

When speaking about the 6000 year long existence of the Skradin area, historians endowed with wisdom search for the reasons of that continuity in its location and geo-strategic position.
History always looks for great and sensible reasons. However, the truth is often much simpler since people and everyday life are smarter than history.

Skradin is simply magical in its each and every detail.
In the loud morning silence that gets under your skin and the stentorian traditional folk klapa singing that touches your heart. In the peace and quiet of the Visovac monastery and the burst of water drops of the Skradinski Buk waterfall.
In each moment of enjoyment of food which has skilfully managed to escape both fridges and freezers which would rob it of its natural aromas and has arrived thoroughly fresh at your table.

Such is Skradin, small, picturesque and filled with flavour, found at a point where the river passionately embraces the sea.
Such is Skradin, at the border of reality and fantasy.
Such is Skradin, perfect, both in past and present.

N.P. PLITVICE 250 km

The natural attributes of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, uniqueness and sensibiliry of that phenomenon, deserve a full attention of our visitors. Recreational aspect of stay and the amazement with beauty of the area that conquers by its natural diversity and harmony of shapes and colours in any of the seasons, is based on many mutually conditioned natural characteristics. That is a specific geological and hydrogeological phenomenon of karst. The series of 16 bigger and a few smaller lakes, gradually lined up, separated by travertine barriers for which the period of the last ten thousand years was crucial, and which were ruled by ecological relations similar to those of today - suitable for travertine depositing and for the origin of the lakes - are the basic phenomenon of the National Park.More informations here

ISLAND HVAR - 1,5 hour ferry drive

One of the most famous islands in Croatia.Meeting point for many international celebrities. The name of the island is without doubt Greek in origin, from Pharos (lighthouse). From it the Romans derived the name Pharia. The Dalmatian Romans then derived from this Fara, and the newly settled Croats in the early Middle Ages changed this to Hvar, as the old Slavonic consonant f was subsumed by the consonant group hv. The Dalmatian Romans, under the influence of Croatian pronunciation in the medieval documents spelt the name as Quara or Quarra.

At the end of the 11th century the Italians called it Lesina, or in Venetian dialect Liesena or Liesna. This was derived from an old Croatian adjective meaning "forest", which actually corresponded to the appearance of the island at the time of the Neretljani. The eastern part of the island, Plame, has the shape of a cutting edge which gets narrower towards "the top of Hvar" and corresponds well to the medieval Venetian name Liesna which means "awl". This is what it looked like to the Venetian seamen who sailed past the island on their way to the Neretva Channel, near the massif of Krajina where threatening pirates were waiting in their lairs.

Salona was a stronghold and a harbour of the Illyrian Delmati which quite early came into the sphere of influence of the Greeks on the Adriatic.
